Halal Certification

What halal is, how certification works, and why customers trust it

HALAL β€” certificate #614A/2024 Β· DUM RT

All Kazan Delicacies products are certified under the halal standard. The certificate is issued by the Halal Standards Committee of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan (DUM RT) β€” one of the leading halal certification bodies in Russia. This guarantees full compliance with Islamic norms and confirms quality for every customer.

What is halal

"Halal" (Arabic ΨΩ„Ψ§Ω„ β€” "permissible") is everything allowed for consumption and use according to Islamic law (Sharia). For meat products, halal means strict requirements for raw materials, the method of slaughter, ingredients, and how production is organized.

A product is considered halal when it meets the requirements of the halal standard at every stage β€” from raw material selection to packaging. Halal status is confirmed by an official certificate and the halal mark applied to the product.

How certification works

Conformity assessment under the halal standard is carried out step by step and is accessible to any production facility:

  1. Application

The manufacturer submits an application specifying the category and volume of products, number of employees and production sites.
  2. Contract and pricing

The cost of certification is calculated based on the application data, and a contract is signed.
  3. Document review

The body reviews product composition, recipes, raw material suppliers and supporting documentation.
  4. On-site audit

Committee auditors visit the production facility and check that processes and products comply with the standard.
  5. Commission decision

Based on the document review and on-site audit, the commission decides whether to issue the certificate.
  6. Certificate issuance

The enterprise receives the official document and the right to mark its products with the halal sign; the entry is added to the registry.

International recognition and accreditation

The certification body operates in accordance with international SMIIC standards (Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries). This ensures recognition of issued certificates in foreign Muslim markets and facilitates export.

The Halal Standards Committee of DUM RT is accredited by the Federal Accreditation Service (Rosaccreditation) and in March 2026 became the first halal certification body in Russia to obtain state accreditation under the national standard GOST R 70402-2024 "Conformity assessment. Requirements for halal certification bodies".

Certificates are recognized in a number of foreign countries:
