Meat Product Labeling Requirements in Russia 2026
Since 2024, Russia has mandatory digital labeling for all meat products through the Chestny Znak system. In 2026, requirements become stricter: each product unit must have a unique Data Matrix code to track the product from production to shelf. Proper label design and compliance with labeling standards are mandatory for legal operation of manufacturers and meat product suppliers.
Mandatory Information on Meat Product Labels
According to TR CU 022/2011 "Food Products Labeling" and additional 2026 requirements, meat product labels must include:
- Product name: exact name specifying meat type (beef, lamb, poultry) and product category (sausage, delicacy, semi-finished)
- Ingredients: all ingredients in descending order of mass fraction, including food additives with E-numbers
- Net weight: in grams or kilograms
- Production date and shelf life: clearly readable, non-erasable
- Storage conditions: temperature and humidity
- Nutritional and energy value: proteins, fats, carbohydrates, calories per 100 g
- Manufacturer: full name, legal address, phone
- Unified EAEU market circulation mark
